Ahead of the Taxi Drivers’ Protest and the concern over a partial or full suspension of taxi services at Ben Gurion Airport, the Israel Airports Authority (IAA) announces special preparations to ensure that passengers are not stranded on their way to their destination or returning from vacation.
Shuttles and Buses to Replace Taxis
In an official statement released by the IAA spokesperson, it was announced that instead of taxis from Ben Gurion Airport, direct shuttles and buses will be available for passengers, departing from the airport to central locations in major cities. This service is intended as a temporary solution during the protest period, allowing passengers to reach their destinations without relying on taxis.
Israel Railways to Enhance Service
Additionally, in coordination with Israel Railways, the possibility of increasing the frequency of trains from Ben Gurion Airport is being examined, based on demand. Those planning to arrive at or depart from the airport are advised to check train schedules on the official Israel Railways website or app.
IAA Urges Passengers to Prepare in Advance
The Israel Airports Authority recommends that the public prepare for the anticipated changes, especially in the coming days. Passengers are advised to consider arriving by private vehicle or using other public transportation, to prevent congestion, malfunctions, or delays in flight schedules.
Don’t Get Stuck – It’s Time to Explore Alternatives
If you are flying soon, take note: it is recommended to check all transportation options from Ben Gurion Airport in advance, and ensure you have an alternative solution in case of disruptions in taxi services. In most cases, traveling by train or shuttle may also be more economical and faster.
