Arkia Flights to New York Will Transit Through Athens – Passengers to Change Aircraft
Arkia Airlines has announced a temporary change in its flight route from Tel Aviv to New York: Until May 14, 2025, the airline’s flights will operate via Athens, with a plane change at the Greek airport.
According to the company’s announcement, passengers will depart from Ben Gurion Airport on an Arkia flight to Athens, where they will transfer to a wide-body aircraft operated by Iberojet to continue their journey to New York. This is a temporary solution due to operational constraints.

IZ992 – New York to Tel Aviv:

May 8 – 14:15
May 12 – 01:45

Starting May 14, flights on this route will resume direct operations, but not with an Arkia aircraft – instead, they will use an Airbus A330 from GullivAir, which also includes a business class section.
Arkia emphasizes that they are maintaining transparency with customers and providing personal service to each passenger affected by the changes. The company apologizes for the temporary inconvenience and thanks passengers for their patience and cooperation.
