Arkia concludes a significant chapter in its history with the farewell to its first Embraer aircraft, which joined the company’s fleet in 2008. This is an Embraer 195 aircraft, registered as 4X-EMA, which has faithfully served the company for 18 years.
During its years of operation, the aircraft completed over 30,000 flight hours and accumulated approximately 29,000 cycles of takeoffs and landings. Now, as it is retired from service, the aircraft will be dismantled for parts, and its engines will be sold according to the company’s procedures.
This move is part of Arkia’s efficiency revolution in recent years, during which the company is transitioning to a unified fleet of Airbus A320 and A321 models. The aim of this initiative is to streamline maintenance, reduce operational costs, and enhance passenger experience.
However, in the upcoming operational season, Arkia will continue to operate two additional Embraer aircraft until the full adaptation of the fleet is completed.
