Arkia Launches Luxurious Business Class on New York Route and Expands Schedule

The Israeli airline Arkia marks an exciting milestone with an extraordinary strategic move – the launch of a luxurious business class on flights to New York, for the first time in the company’s history. The launch took place this evening (14/05) at a festive event held on the new aircraft, just before the inaugural flight from Israel to New York.

During the event, Arkia unveiled its business class seats for the first time, introduced the new luxury menu, and officially launched the summer campaign featuring the airline’s new presenter – actor and comedian Orel Tzabari.

A New Business Experience in the Air: Premium Class at an Affordable Price

The new business class includes 18 wide seats that convert into two-meter-long beds. Passengers will enjoy additional baggage allowance, personal comfort kits, access to Dan lounges at Ben Gurion Airport and JFK, VIP service, a rich premium menu, alcohol, and desserts – all served on porcelain dishes to complete the flight experience.

The price for a business class flight will start at $1,750 one way – a direct continuation of Arkia’s pricing revolution, which also included unprecedentedly priced economy class flights at $999 round trip.

Reinforcement on the New York Route with a New Dreamliner

Following a wave of flight cancellations by American companies, Arkia announced it will strengthen the New York route in collaboration with the Italian company NEOS, using a new Boeing 787-900 Dreamliner. The aircraft includes 355 seats, of which 26 are upgraded premium economy seats. Passengers wishing to upgrade can purchase a premium economy seat for an additional $600 one way.

In light of the addition, the company will operate 5 weekly flights on the Tel Aviv – New York route.

New Flight Schedules – May and June 2025:

From Tel Aviv to New York:

  • Wednesday: Departure at 01:00 (between Tuesday and Wednesday), arrival at 05:30 (New York time)

  • Friday: Departure at 01:00 (between Thursday and Friday), arrival at 05:30 (New York time)

From New York to Tel Aviv:

  • Sunday: Departure at 02:30 (between Saturday and Sunday), arrival at 20:15 (Israel time)

  • Thursday: Departure at 00:15 (between Wednesday and Thursday), arrival at 18:00 (Israel time)

“We Are Here to Stay”

Arkia CEO, Oz Berlovich, stated at the event:

“At a time when many airlines are disappearing from the Israeli market – we choose to grow. Our response to the rising demand and the challenging situation in Israel is to expand operations, improve service, and launch a particularly high-level aviation product. Our prices remain accessible, understanding the needs of the Israeli market, and we will continue to work to offer a reliable, comfortable, and cost-effective alternative.”
