Arkia has received official approval to resume direct flights to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, a popular destination among Israelis. The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart on October 28, 2025, marking the end of a prolonged crisis that threatened the operation of the route.
Following a period of security uncertainty and extensive efforts by Israeli security officials, led by the “Ofek” organization, the delay has been lifted, paving the way for the renewal of one of Arkia’s strategic routes in the Caucasus region.
Three Weekly Flights – Tel Aviv to Baku and Return
Starting October 28, Arkia will operate three weekly flights to Baku. This is a significant move for Israeli travelers, especially for those who love Caucasian destinations and seek a unique vacation that combines history, culture, breathtaking landscapes, and warm hospitality.
Arkia CEO: “The Baku Route is a Key Strategic Destination”
Oz Berlovich, CEO of Arkia, commented on the announcement and said:
“I am pleased to announce that after great efforts by ‘Ofek’, the delay has been lifted, and we are renewing operations for the popular and beloved route for Israelis – Baku. I want to thank ‘Ofek’ and personally its head, Mr. Meni Doanis, for the commitment, professionalism, and determination that enabled the renewal of this important route.”
Baku – A Destination with Growing Demand
The Tel Aviv-Baku route is considered an important flight path for Arkia, serving not only as a tourist bridge but also as a tool for strengthening economic and strategic relations between Israel and Azerbaijan. In normal times, Baku attracts tens of thousands of Israeli travelers annually, who come to enjoy impressive architecture, historical sites, beaches on the Caspian Sea, and unique Azerbaijani cuisine.
