Flying to the EuroLeague with the Flag: El Al and Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club Sign Commercial Partnership Agreement for 2025 El Al Spokesperson: El Al and the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club have signed a commercial partnership agreement for 2025, under which the El Al group will be the official carrier for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv in its European games, with a focus on home games held in Belgrade, Serbia, due to the current situation. The signing ceremony took place at the National Sports Center in Hadar Yosef, Tel Aviv, with the participation of El Al CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia, Sun D’Or CEO from the El Al group, Gal Gershon, Chairman of Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club Shimon Mizrahi, Club CEO Mudi Feld, Team Coach Oded Kattash, Maccabi legend and now Club VP of Marketing and Sales Doron Jamchi, and team players. After the signing, a shooting competition was held between El Al CEO Dina Ben Tal Ganancia and Sun D’Or CEO Gal Gershon against the team players. El Al CEO, Dina Ben Tal Ganancia: “Our partnership with the Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club is a long-standing one, based on the importance we see in supporting Israeli sports. Maccabi Tel Aviv is a flagship team in Israeli basketball, and we are proud to accompany them to every game. Sports connect people from different backgrounds or cultures, and especially this year, we have realized the importance of representing the country worldwide, in every possible field, especially through sports. All El Al personnel are proud of you, trust you, and are excited to be partners in your journey across Europe.” Sun D’Or CEO from the El Al group, Gal Gershon: “Today we officially ‘formalized’ the connection with the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball family, under which we will fly the team players and club management to home games held in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia, where Sun D’Or flies three times a week regularly. The beloved and regular route will allow the team’s fans to continue joining one of the company’s flights to Belgrade and experience the atmosphere of the games from the stands. Strengthening the players and boosting morale will continue to showcase our strength as a people and a nation to the world. We are all behind you and wish you success in the games.” “For us, this connection between the Israeli flagship company and the country’s team is natural,” said Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club Chairman Shimon Mizrahi. “This connection did not start today. I will take you back to 1977 when the first El Al plane landed in Belgrade, followed by four more on the same day, bringing fans to the famous final of our first European Cup win. This connection is a strong bond that cannot be broken, and thank you very much,” concluded Mizrahi. “Our connection is deep and important. Just recently, we visited the war wounded together at the rehabilitation hospital in Tel Hashomer. The community is important to El Al and, of course, important to us, and we will continue to engage in this,” said Doron Jamchi, who also serves as the community relations officer at Maccabi. “This is a significant and exciting day for two Israeli super brands – Maccabi Tel Aviv Basketball Club and the leading Israeli airline, El Al. These are two organizations that have proudly represented our country worldwide for decades, each in its unique way,” said Club CEO Mudi Feld. “When Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv steps onto the court in Europe, and when an El Al plane lands at an international airport – it’s much more than sports or aviation. It’s a story of Israeli excellence, innovation, and proudly placing the Israeli flag on international stages. This collaboration is much more than a business agreement – it’s a connection between two symbols of Israeli success. A connection between two pioneering brands in their fields,” concluded Feld.
