El Al Expands Price Cap Policy: Now Includes Athens and Larnaca
Following a wave of flight cancellations by foreign airlines, El Al announced today (May 6) the extension of its price cap policy and the addition of new destinations at special prices – Athens and Larnaca.
According to an El Al spokesperson-
-
Round-trip flights to Larnaca priced at only $199
-
Round-trip flights to Athens priced at only $299
-
Prices are valid until May 17, and include LITE tickets
El Al notes that these destinations have high seat availability, and can also serve as transit points for passengers continuing on foreign airlines to additional destinations in Europe and worldwide.
The company further stated that occupancy on El Al flights is currently very high, with many trying to return to Israel through the options the airline offers.
Since the announcement of the “rescue” prices yesterday – one-way flights to Israel at capped prices – approximately 13,000 bookings have already been made. El Al emphasizes that it continues to operate around the clock to bring Israelis home.
Public Notice: El Al wishes to highlight that all flight prices are listed on the company’s official website, and that contradictory reports in the media are incorrect. It is recommended to check directly on the company’s website or digital service channels in case of any uncertainty.
Both new routes are worth considering for travelers looking to combine a cheap flight with a short getaway. Larnaca and Athens are popular quick-break destinations from Israel, and with El Al now applying its price cap policy to these routes, round-trip fares are considerably lower than usual. As with any capped-price offer, seats at the lowest fares tend to sell out fast, so travelers interested in booking are advised to check the airline’s website directly and confirm exact dates and availability before finalizing plans.
