“Our Brothers, the Entire House of Israel”: El Al’s New Dreamliner Lands in Israel with a Message of Unity and Hope
The 17th aircraft in El Al’s Dreamliner fleet is set to land in Israel just before the Sabbath, featuring an innovative design and an extraordinary name – “Our Brothers, the Entire House of Israel.” This Boeing 787-9 model, equipped with 293 seats, is a key component of the company’s strategic initiative to expand and renew its fleet.
Unlike other company aircraft named after cities and towns in Israel, El Al has chosen this time to dedicate the aircraft’s name to a prayer verse – an expression of hope, compassion, and national unity: “Our brothers, the entire house of Israel who are in distress and captivity… may the Almighty have mercy on them…”. The name was selected as a moving tribute to the captives, embodying El Al’s vision to connect the people of Israel, both in the air and on the ground.
New Design, Renewed Vision
The aircraft is adorned with a new paint scheme highlighting the colors of the Israeli flag – blue and white – and features a refreshed El Al logo. This new livery, already seen on some of the company’s 737 aircraft, aims to strengthen the connection with the Israeli public and convey luxury, identity, and national pride wherever El Al lands worldwide.
Beyond its visual appeal, the paint is applied according to EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency) standards, providing protection against wear, corrosion, and weather damage.
Part of a Broader Expansion and Strengthening Strategy
The new aircraft is part of El Al’s renewal initiative, which includes fleet expansion, service experience upgrades, and destination map enlargement. As part of the plan announced in 2023, El Al signed a deal to purchase up to nine additional Dreamliner 787-9 aircraft. Furthermore, in August 2024, the company announced a historic deal to acquire up to 31 Boeing MAX737 aircraft – the largest deal in the company’s history.
This initiative is an integral part of El Al’s commitment to meeting international ESG standards, protecting the environment, and integrating advanced technologies in civil aviation.
