Flight Updates to Israel: Ryanair Continues Cancellations, Aegean Resumes – EasyJet Delays Again
The aviation industry continues to grapple with instability due to the security situation and its impact on flights to Israel. As of today, several airlines have issued important updates regarding their operations to Ben Gurion Airport.
Ryanair – The Irish low-cost airline has announced an extension of its flight suspension to Israel until June 4, 2025. The airline has removed all flights to Israel from its website until this date and sent cancellation emails to passengers. The official announcement confirms the continuation of the suspension, at least until the beginning of June.
In contrast, encouraging news from Greece: Aegean Airlines has announced the resumption of its flights to Israel starting May 19, 2025. Aegean is one of the prominent airlines operating between Athens and Tel Aviv, and its return to operation indicates a partial recovery in regional air routes.
Another important update comes from EasyJet – the British airline, which had already announced its return to Israel at the beginning of June, now delays its return to June 30, 2025. Passengers who have already purchased tickets received notifications with options including a refund, transfer to an alternative flight, or future credit.
On the North American front: Air Canada, which was supposed to resume its Toronto–Tel Aviv route this June, announced another delay – and will not resume operations in Israel before September 2025.
This situation highlights the uncertainty in the industry, with some airlines choosing to gradually resume operations, while others continue to stay out of the Israeli market for an extended period.
