Following the ceasefire, the beginning of airlines’ return to operations in Israel and the directive of Transport Minister Miri Regev, the Israel Airports Authority is preparing for “the day after”. The expectation is that as the security situation continues to stabilize, more airlines will return to full operations in Israel ahead of the summer season, which begins in April 2025.
As part of the preparations, a slot conference was recently held, at which all the foreign airlines that operated at Ben Gurion before the war asked to reserve their landing and takeoff slots for the coming summer season. The request reflects the airlines’ intention to resume their operations in Israel on a broad scale, despite the challenges posed by the security situation recently.
As part of the IAA’s “day after team” preparations, it was decided to significantly recruit employees in a variety of roles, with an emphasis on the security and operations divisions. In security, recruitment includes roles such as armed guards and security screeners, which require lengthy training, so the recruitment process has already begun. Security jobs at Ben Gurion are considered attractive thanks to good working conditions, high pay, bonuses, degree study tracks, fast promotion options and integration into a variety of roles in the Israel Airports Authority.
In addition, ahead of the summer season, the IAA will begin recruiting operations staff in February, including baggage handlers, aircraft cleaners, sorters and equipment operators, and these roles also offer significant promotion opportunities.
All positions are suitable for women and men and are open to all sectors, subject to the job requirements. The IAA will soon launch a broad recruitment campaign on social media to attract suitable candidates.
