Hainan Airlines Resumes Direct Tel Aviv–Beijing Route Starting April 10, 2025
Hainan Airlines, the Chinese airline, announces the resumption of the direct route between Tel Aviv and Beijing starting April 10, 2025. The route was suspended with the outbreak of the war, but the airline continued to operate the route to Shenzhen throughout the period. Now, with the route back in operation, it will be the only direct flight operating on the Tel Aviv–Beijing route, given the absence of El Al flights on this route.
Flights will operate twice a week:
- From Tel Aviv to Beijing: Mondays and Thursdays, departing from Ben Gurion Airport at 15:00 and arriving in Beijing at 04:45 the following day.
- From Beijing to Tel Aviv: Mondays and Thursdays, departing at 02:00 local time and arriving at Ben Gurion Airport at 07:40 the same day.
Ticket sales will open within the next 48 hours.
All flights between China and Israel follow the northern security route and are operated with modern Dreamliner (Boeing 787) aircraft. Additionally, Hainan Airlines has consistently held a five-star rating for 11 years, making it the only Chinese airline to receive this prestigious rating for such an extended period.
Why Hainan Airlines Is Returning to Israel
Hainan Airlines is one of several international carriers restoring service to Israel as security conditions along the routine flight paths have stabilized. The airline’s decision reflects growing demand from Chinese and Israeli travelers for direct connections between the two countries, reducing the need for lengthy layovers through European or Gulf hubs. Hainan Airlines previously operated the Tel Aviv–Beijing route for several years before suspending it, and its return is seen as a sign of renewed confidence in the Israeli aviation market.
What Passengers Should Know Before Booking
Travelers planning to fly with Hainan Airlines are advised to book early, as demand for the newly reopened route is expected to be high in the first weeks of operation. Passengers should also check visa requirements for China well in advance, since processing times can vary. As with all international carriers currently serving Israel, schedules may be adjusted on short notice depending on regional security developments, so it is recommended to sign up for airline notifications and confirm flight status close to the departure date.
