The airline ‘Arkia’ is taking significant steps towards renewing the direct flight route from Israel to India. The company’s CEO, Oz Berlovich, along with other senior executives from Arkia’s management, recently held an official meeting with the Indian Ambassador to Israel, Mr. J. P. Singh, and Dr. Garika Tejaswar, the First Secretary and Economic Attaché of India in Israel.
During the meeting, which was held in an especially positive atmosphere, the parties discussed the possibility of resuming aviation activities between the countries, particularly the return of Arkia flights to India. Company representatives emphasized their commitment to deepening ties with countries friendly to Israel, with India being a strategically important destination for both tourism and business.
Arkia previously operated direct routes from Israel to India, but this activity was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, the resumption has been considered several times, with the company intensifying efforts in recent months with official entities in Israel and India.
Arkia CEO Oz Berlovich stated after the meeting: “India is a preferred destination for the Israeli public, whether for business needs or for tourism and cultural experiences. We see great importance in renewing the direct air connection and hope to receive the necessary approvals soon to restart the route.”
Arkia aims to expand its international operations in the coming years, and the return of routes to India is part of a comprehensive strategic move. The return of the route may reduce flight prices, increase the number of tourists, and provide a direct solution for travelers.
