Israir Accommodates Sabbath Observers: Check-In Now Available 36 Hours Before Flight
Good news for Sabbath-observant travelers: Israir Airlines has updated its check-in policy on its website and app, now allowing the check-in process to be completed 36 hours before departure instead of the previous 24-hour window. (Moshe Weisberg).
This change comes in response to requests from Sabbath-observant customers whose flights were scheduled for Saturday night or after a holiday, but who were unable to complete check-in on time because the system only opened 24 hours in advance. In such cases, if the Sabbath begins more than 24 hours before their departure, there is no religiously permissible way to complete the check-in process, often leading to stress, delays, and even flight issues.
Now, check-in can be completed 36 hours before departure for Saturday night flights.
