ITA Airways Tel Aviv Route Returns to Ben Gurion
The ITA Airways Tel Aviv route is back. Italy’s flag carrier has announced it’s resuming direct flights between Tel Aviv and Rome. Daily service on the route begins February 1, 2025.
Flight Schedule
Rome-to-Tel Aviv flights depart at 09:10 and land at Ben Gurion Airport at 13:30. The return leg departs Tel Aviv at 14:30 and lands in Rome at 17:15.
Connecting Flights to the United States
ITA Airways is also expanding its connecting flights to the United States. Israeli passengers get convenient, affordable connections to several destinations. Fares to New York start around $700, with a stopover in Rome.
Competition on U.S. Routes Heats Up
ITA isn’t the only one eyeing this market. Israir is considering a direct Tel Aviv-New York route of its own. Arkia has already confirmed a similar route starting February 8, 2025, with round-trip fares from $1,199. Between the new options, the ITA Airways Tel Aviv route adds real value to flights from Israel toward Europe and the U.S., with competitive prices and convenient schedules.
Will More Airlines Return to Israel?
ITA joined the Lufthansa Group last summer, and its return may be an early signal. The Lufthansa Group includes major carriers like Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, all of which have paused flights to Israel through the end of the month. With ITA back in the air, other group airlines could follow soon. We’ll keep watching for updates.
For now, the ITA Airways Tel Aviv route gives travelers another reliable way to reach Rome and beyond, whether for a quick European getaway or a longer trip across the Atlantic. Keep an eye on fares, since prices on new and returning routes tend to shift quickly in the first few weeks.
