The Millionth Passenger Crosses the Border Today

The Millionth Passenger at the Land Borders
Ryan Abu Yosef from the town of Yarka became the millionth passenger to cross the land borders between Israel and Egypt and Jordan since the beginning of 2025. Ryan crossed the border via the Jordan River Crossing on his way to a family vacation in Jordan.
According to the Israel Airports Authority, since the start of the year, approximately 76,000 passengers have crossed through the Taba Crossing to Sinai, around 405,000 through the Rabin Crossing to Jordan, about 92,000 via the Jordan River Crossing, and the Allenby Crossing—considered the busiest—saw approximately 427,000 passengers.
To mark the occasion, Avi Zohar, the manager of the Jordan River Crossing, presented Ryan with a modest gift, a unique certificate, and VIP service. Zohar congratulated Ryan and stated:
“We are delighted to host the millionth passenger at the Jordan River Crossing. The million passengers who have crossed here this year are a living testament to the strength of Israel’s strategic ties with its neighbors. We will continue to do everything possible to enhance the service experience for all passengers.”
Ryan himself expressed his excitement about the special occasion and said:
“It is a great honor for me to be the millionth passenger. I wish all travelers a safe and enjoyable journey.”
