Arkia’s New Route and Sun D’Or’s Flight Expansion
The aviation market continues to awaken: Arkia launches a new route to Geneva, and Sun D’Or from the El Al Group increases flights to popular destinations
The airline Arkia is launching a new direct flight route to the city of Geneva in Switzerland – a key and attractive destination for both tourism and business. Flights will commence on Monday, July 7, 2025, and will operate twice a week – on Mondays and Wednesdays. Ticket prices will start from just $199 one way.
According to Arkia’s CEO, Oz Berlovich, “After launching routes to New York and the Seychelles, we are pleased to add Geneva to our list of destinations – a city with immense economic and diplomatic significance. We invite the public to continue supporting an Israeli company that flies even during the most challenging times.”
Geneva is considered one of the most important cities in Europe, with a concentration of international institutions, a rich cultural scene, proximity to ski resorts, and a variety of entertainment and shopping options. This destination attracts tourists, businesspeople, and diplomats alike – and the new route further strengthens Arkia’s presence on the international stage.
Additionally, it should be noted that Arkia recently announced a significant increase in the New York route, with the addition of two weekly flights, bringing the total to five weekly flights on this route. Furthermore, the company will resume the direct route to the Seychelles starting Friday, June 20, with a weekly flight on the new AIRBUS 330-200, which also includes a luxurious business class.
Sun D’Or Adds Flights to Albania and Other Destinations for Summer 2025
The El Al Group is also expanding its flight offerings for the summer months: Sun D’Or announced an increase in flights to Tirana, Albania – a destination that has become particularly popular among the Israeli public in the past year. Starting this summer, Sun D’Or will operate 5 weekly flights to Tirana on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays (return flights will take place on Saturday nights).
The addition of flights will increase the number of seats available during the summer season and provide greater flexibility for travelers. Tirana offers a unique combination of beautiful beaches, lush landscapes, attractive prices, and proximity to Israel – all of which contribute to it being projected as the hit of Summer 2025.
In addition to Tirana, Sun d’Or is offering flights this summer to 18 other destinations, including:
Greece – Rhodes, Crete, Thessaloniki, Kefalonia, Mykonos, Santorini, Lefkada
Georgia – Tbilisi, Batumi
Cyprus – Larnaca, Paphos
Poland – Warsaw, Krakow
Other Countries – Porto (Portugal), Belgrade (Serbia), Chisinau (Moldova), Tivat (Montenegro)
Flight tickets can be purchased on the EL AL website and through travel agents. Members of EL AL’s frequent flyer club can earn and redeem points on these flights.
Sun d’Or CEO, Gal Gershon, added: “We are attentive to demand and are pleased to offer 5 weekly flights to Tirana – a destination that has become one of the top choices for the Israeli public for the upcoming summer.”
