The Airports Authority clarifies that it does not operate a Valet Parking service at Ben Gurion Airport and is not affiliated with private companies offering to collect the traveler’s vehicle at the terminal entrance and return it after landing in Israel.
The implication for travelers is simple: even if advertisements include phrases like “Ben Gurion Airport,” “the airport,” or “adjacent to the terminal,” this does not indicate that the service is authorized or operated by the Airports Authority.
Travelers Report Damages, Fines, and Vehicle Use
The warning was issued after the authority received recent complaints from travelers who used such private services. Reports received by the authority include damages to vehicles, use of the vehicle while the owner was abroad, as well as fines and penalties received afterward in the vehicle owner’s name.
Some travelers also reported difficulties in receiving responses after the service and instances where they were unable to contact the entity to whom they handed over their vehicle. Therefore, handing over a vehicle and keys to a private entity requires particularly careful scrutiny, but the official recommendation of the Airports Authority is to avoid these services at Ben Gurion Airport.
