Preparations for Rosh Hashanah Continue: Ministry of Transport Intensifies Arrangements for Mass Travel to Uman

Preparations are in full swing for the upcoming journey of tens of thousands of Israelis to Uman for Rosh Hashanah. Today (Sunday), a special follow-up meeting was held at the Ministry of Transport, led by Minister Miri Regev and CEO Moshe Ben Zaken, in collaboration with all parties involved in the logistical operation: Foreign Ministry Director General Eden Bar Tal, Deputy Knesset Speaker MK Eliyahu Revivo, representatives of the Breslov Hasidic community, travel agents, and relevant professionals.

Focus: Transit Through Moldova

The discussion centered on the issue of transit through Moldova, which serves as a significant gateway for thousands of pilgrims traveling to Uman. Minister Regev listened to the professionals and travel agents, emphasizing that the Ministry of Transport is committed to working in full coordination with Moldovan authorities to ensure a smooth, safe, and dignified passage for travelers.

Warning from MK Revivo: “Chisinau Transit – A Critical Weak Point”

MK Eliyahu Revivo, who travels to Uman annually, warned during the meeting about the lack of clear arrangements with Moldovan authorities:
“The Chisinau transit is one of the critical weak points. Unless there is prior clarification with the authorities there, we may face a serious problem. The state must show travelers that it stands behind them and takes care of them,” he stated.

Revivo praised Minister Regev and CEO Ben Zaken for their dedication and attention to the needs of the traveling public:
“This is a true example of the desire to find practical solutions. I commend this cooperation, which provides real support to the tens of thousands of travelers expected to embark on their spiritual journey,” he concluded.

The meeting is part of an ongoing inter-ministerial preparation process that also includes the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Airports Authority, the Civil Aviation Authority, the Ministry of Health, security agencies, and the Ukrainian government, aiming to facilitate an orderly and organized passage through neighboring countries—primarily through Moldova—to Uman in Ukraine.
