The Scandinavian airline SAS, which recently resumed its direct route to Israel after a decade-long absence, has been awarded the prestigious title of the most punctual airline in Europe for October 2025, according to the Cirium research company’s rankings.
According to the report, no less than 84.43% of SAS flights departed and arrived on time, an exceptional figure in an industry fraught with challenges. This marks the fourth time in 2025 that the airline has secured the top spot in Europe, an achievement that underscores consistent operations, high-quality service, and professional management, even in harsh winter conditions and during particularly heavy traffic periods.
Success Amid Record Passenger Traffic in Copenhagen
Despite being the busiest month ever recorded at Copenhagen’s main airport, with over 3 million passengers, SAS managed to maintain an exceptionally high level of service. The airline’s home base continues to serve as a strategic anchor thanks to advanced infrastructure and precise scheduling management.
The return to the Tel Aviv-Copenhagen route represents another significant step in the airline’s expansion in the Middle East, catering to the growing demand from both Israeli and Scandinavian travelers.
Punctuality is Not Just a Value, But a Culture
SAS does not limit itself to the European arena: in April and May of this year, it was also ranked as the most punctual airline in the world. These figures reinforce the company’s new marketing strategy, which aims to position SAS as a brand representing the values of precision, reliability, and service, key values for the Scandinavian audience.
The company’s President and CEO, Anko van der Werff, stated: “Our customers expect us to be punctual, and we see it as a mission. This ranking is not accidental; it is the result of the dedicated work of each of our team members.”
