Sun d’Or flights to Marrakesh are officially launching this winter, giving Israeli travelers a new direct way to reach Morocco.
A New-Old Winter Destination Returns to Israel’s Flight Map: Sun d’Or, part of the El Al Group, will operate direct flights to Marrakesh, Morocco, starting November, twice a week.
The new route is set to commence on November 16, 2026, pending necessary approvals. Flights will depart on Mondays and Wednesdays, with introductory prices starting at $599 for a round-trip LITE ticket, which includes a trolley and hand luggage.
Sun d’Or flights to Marrakesh: Flight Deals Expected to Be More Affordable
The price announced by Sun d’Or is the introductory rate on the company’s website, but through the Flight Hunter booking engine, flights to Marrakesh can be found at even lower prices, depending on availability and search time. The cheapest option is to book through Flight Hunter, with an interface in Hebrew, prices in shekels, and payment options.
Why Marrakesh in Winter?
Marrakesh is considered an ideal winter vacation destination. The weather in this desert city is relatively pleasant during the cold season, offering a mix of colorful markets, ancient alleys, palaces, gardens, local cuisine, and a Moroccan atmosphere that is hard to find elsewhere.
The city also serves as a gateway for excursions outside Marrakesh: the Atlas Mountains, traditional villages, and desert landscapes are within driving distance, allowing for a combination of urban and nature vacations.
Two Weekly Flights on Mondays and Wednesdays
The planned flight schedule is suitable for short breaks and week-long vacations. The mid-week flights are particularly convenient for Sabbath-observant travelers who wish to travel without flying on the Sabbath.
Marrakesh rejoins the map of direct routes from Israel. As recently announced by Flight Hunter, Arkia also announced the return of direct flights to Marrakesh, which may increase competition on the route, offering more options and attractive prices for travelers.
13 Destinations in Sun d’Or’s Winter Schedule
Besides Marrakesh, Sun d’Or plans to operate flights to 12 additional destinations this winter: Larnaca and Paphos in Cyprus, Batumi and Tbilisi in Georgia, Tirana in Albania, Chisinau in Moldova, Belgrade in Serbia, Warsaw and Krakow in Poland, Salzburg in Austria, Lyon in France, and Verona in Italy.
