It’s Happening: Terminal 1 Reopens – Flights Resume Tomorrow, Soon to Europe
After a period of maintenance and upgrades, Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport is finally back in operation. The announcement from the Israel Airports Authority is that starting tomorrow (Wednesday, 26/3), domestic flights to Eilat will exclusively depart from Terminal 1, and in a few days, international flights will also resume from this terminal.
Flights to Eilat? Only from Terminal 1
Beginning tomorrow, all domestic flights, particularly the popular route to Eilat (Ramon Airport), will depart from Terminal 1. The first flight is scheduled to take off at 06:20 AM. For those arriving from Eilat, a direct bus to Tel Aviv will be available from Gate 10 between 09:00 and 11:00.
International Flights – On the Horizon
International flights from Terminal 1 will resume on Sunday, 30/3. Throughout April, approximately 1,400 international flights are expected to take off from the terminal, accounting for about 25% of all departures from Ben Gurion Airport. These flights will be operated by various airlines to popular European destinations, including Sofia, Budapest, Bucharest, Berlin, Rome, Athens, Rhodes, Warsaw, Vienna, and more.
Check Your Terminal Before You Fly
The Airports Authority advises passengers to verify in advance from which terminal and floor their flight departs to avoid unnecessary confusion and delays.
Minister Miri Regev: “Exciting News for Travelers”
Minister of Transport and Road Safety, Brigadier General (Res.) Miri Regev, welcomed the reopening of the terminal and stated:
“The reopening of Terminal 1 is exciting news for travelers in Israel. The terminal will allow passengers to enjoy a comfortable and pleasant travel experience and will help reduce congestion at Ben Gurion Airport. We will continue to work on improving passenger services and expanding the destinations available from Israel.”
