Air traffic to and from Israel continues to recover at an impressive pace: October 2025 was recorded as one of the busiest months of the year at Ben Gurion Airport, with more than 1.8 million passengers passing through the airport on flights. This represents an increase of approximately 65% compared to October of the previous year.
More Aircraft – More Passengers on All Routes
According to the report published by the Airports Authority, during the month, 1,849,399 passengers passed through Ben Gurion Airport on international and domestic flights, of which 1,794,242 on international flights, a surge of 64.85% compared to October 2024. The number of aircraft movements also recorded an increase of more than 54%, with a total of 13,580 flights.
The passengers were distributed between the two main terminals:

In Terminal 3, 1,645,521 international passengers passed through this month.

In Terminal 1, primarily used for low-cost outbound flights, 148,721 passengers passed through, an increase of about 124% compared to last year.
Domestic Flights: Growth Here Too
Domestic flights also recorded significant growth, with 55,157 passengers, an increase of more than 27% compared to last October.
Which Airlines Led the Growth?
Among all airlines, three stood out in passenger volume growth:

Wizz Air – continued to expand at Ben Gurion Airport.

Blue Bird Airways – an Israeli-owned low-cost airline maintaining popular routes to Europe.

Aegean Airlines – the national airline of Greece.
Leading Countries and Destinations

Greece retained the top spot with 214,754 passengers, nearly 12% of the monthly activity.

USA, United Arab Emirates, and Italy showed the highest growth rates compared to last October.
Regarding cities:

Larnaca in Cyprus was the most popular international destination with 100,324 passengers.

Dubai, Athens, Budapest, and New York (JFK and Newark) joined the list of the top five destinations.
Cargo Flights Also on the Rise
In addition to passenger traffic, there was also an increase in cargo transport with 31,230 tons of cargo in October alone, an increase of over 16% compared to the previous year.
