Travel Tuesday is a travel sales event held every year on the Tuesday after Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Unlike sale days dedicated mainly to electronics, clothing and physical products, Travel Tuesday is entirely focused on trips, holidays and travel experiences.
How Did Travel Tuesday Start?
The event was born out of a desire to cater to consumers looking for good-value deals not only on physical products but also on holidays and trips. The date, falling in late November or early December, marks the start of the planning season for the new year’s holidays. Travel companies identified the market potential and began offering exclusive, attractive discounts on this day.
During Travel Tuesday, a wide range of players in the travel industry offer especially good deals:
- Airlines: flight tickets at reduced prices, cabin upgrades and more.
- Hotel booking sites: discounts on luxury hotels, B&Bs and holiday apartments.
- Holiday packages: deals including flights, hotels and attractions at reduced prices.
- Car rental companies: deals on cars for holidays.
- Cruises and attractions: discounts on cruises and organized tours. In Israel, airlines don’t usually offer special deals on this day – but you can find the deals on hotels.
