United Airlines Resumes Direct Route Between San Francisco and Tel Aviv

American airline United Airlines has announced the resumption of its direct route between San Francisco and Tel Aviv. Starting from March 28, 2027, United plans to operate three weekly flights on this route. This move is part of the largest international expansion in the company’s history.

In a significant development for travelers between Israel and the United States, United Airlines announced today (Tuesday) its plans to renew direct flights between San Francisco and Tel Aviv.

According to the company’s statement, the route will resume operations on March 28, 2027, with a frequency of three flights per week.

This marks the return of one of United’s key routes to Israel, offering exciting news for passengers looking to reach the West Coast of the United States and the San Francisco Bay Area.

Three Direct Flights Weekly

San Francisco is much more than just another tourist destination in the United States. The area serves as a gateway to Silicon Valley and is one of the world’s most important centers for the technology industry, with extensive business ties to Israel.

United’s return to the route will provide passengers with an additional option to fly directly between Israel and California, without any layovers.

United also emphasizes that with the return of this service, it expects to offer more business class seats between San Francisco and Tel Aviv than any other airline on the route.

United Embarks on Its Largest Expansion Ever

The announcement for Israel is part of a much larger declaration made by United today.

The company announced 10 new international destinations for 2027, alongside new routes to existing destinations and the renewal of the Tel Aviv route.

Among others, United plans to add flights to destinations such as Ibiza, Valencia, Luxembourg, Toulouse, Catania, and Okinawa. The company describes this move as the largest international expansion in its history.

According to United, over the past decade, it has added nearly 60 international cities to its route network.

And a New Aircraft on the Way

In parallel with expanding its destination network, United introduced its new Airbus A321XLR aircraft, which will join the company’s international operations and enable it to operate additional long-haul routes.

The new aircraft is expected to play a significant role in United’s expansion plans in Europe during 2027. The company stated that it expects to receive enough aircraft of this model to meet the planned flight schedule, despite challenges in Airbus’s supply program.

Date to Remember: March 28, 2027

If the schedule proceeds as planned, on March 28, 2027, United will resume its direct route from San Francisco to Tel Aviv, with three flights per week.

For Israeli travelers, this means another direct option to the West Coast and increased competition on a long and significant route to the United States.
