Flight prices from Israel may get another add-on in 2027. The Israel Airports Authority has announced an update to aviation fee rates, including the fees for passengers departing from Ben Gurion Airport.
Under the new rates, the fee for a passenger departing from Terminal 3 will be $37.68, compared with $33.87 in 2026. That’s an increase of $3.81 per passenger, or about 11.25% in the dollar-denominated rate.
At Terminal 1, the departing passenger fee will rise to $17.36, compared with $15.61 in 2026 – an increase of $1.75 per passenger, or about 11.2%.
Will Airfares Go Up?
Passenger fees are part of the costs associated with operating flights at the airport, and in most cases they’re included in the total ticket price. As a result, the fee update may affect the prices shown to passengers in 2027.
However, this doesn’t necessarily mean a uniform increase for every ticket. The final price is also determined by airline policy, destination, demand, booking date and other factors.

Why Is the Dollar Increase So Steep?
The Israel Airports Authority stresses that the fees are actually set in shekels. The 2027 update reflects a 1.54% rise in the Consumer Price Index, in line with the indexation mechanism set out in the regulations.
The larger gap in the dollar-denominated rate stems from the decline in the dollar exchange rate. To preserve the shekel value of the fees, a higher dollar amount is required.
The Authority clarified that apart from the adjustment required under the indexation mechanism, no additional change was made to the shekel value of the rates.

When Will the New Rates Be Published?
The full updated rates for 2027 are expected to be published by October 1, 2026. The update is carried out in accordance with Regulation 13 of the Israel Airports Authority (Fees) Regulations, 1991.
