Some European airlines announced suspensions of flights to Ben Gurion. Further cancellation extensions came following an announcement by the EU Aviation Safety Agency, which recommends that, in light of developments in the Middle East in the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, flights should not enter the airspace of Israel and Lebanon until October 31. The recommendation refers to flights taking off, landing or passing through the area.

TUS Airways (Cyprus) – has resumed flying. Air France – cancelling its flights until October 8. Air Europa – cancelling its flights until October 1. Cyprus Airways – cancelling its flights until September 30. Transavia – cancelling its flights until September 29. Blue Bird – cancelling its flights until October 4 (a small number of Blue Bird flights are still operating). Bulgaria Air – cancelling its flights until October 1. ITA Airways – cancelling its flights until October 31. Virgin Atlantic – cancelling its flights until March 30. Aegean – cancelling its flights until October 7. British Airways – cancelling its flights until October 26. LOT – cancelling its flights until October 14. Lufthansa Group/SWISS/Austrian/Eurowings/Brussels – cancelling their flights until October 31. airBaltic – cancelling its flights until October 14. Ryanair – cancelling its flights until October 26. Vueling – cancelling its flights until October 26. Delta – cancelling its flights until December 31.
Airlines that have cancelled flights until further notice: Air India, Air Canada, United, American Airlines, Croatia Airlines.
El Al Spokesperson said: Following the recent security events, El Al wishes to update that, as of now, the airline’s flight schedule is operating as normal, and that there are no seats left on El Al flights to and from Israel in the coming days. We’re working to reinforce the flight schedule as much as possible, and recommend that all passengers whose flights were cancelled travel to Athens or Larnaca and register with travel agents on the waiting list for return flights to Israel.
Israir said: Israir is continuously following the guidelines and instructions of the Israel Airports Authority. There’s currently no change in operations. If security approvals are received, we’ll add flights during the week from destinations close to Israel to help the many Israelis whose foreign flights aren’t operating get home. As of now, the leased aircraft in our fleet continue to operate without change.
Arkia said: Following the recommendation of the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, some foreign airlines left Israel today. Arkia is preparing to meet demand and crowding ahead of the holiday.
Announcement from the Israel Airports Authority Spokesperson: From tomorrow (Sunday, September 29), tens of thousands of Hasidim are expected to depart Ben Gurion to various destinations in order to reach Uman, Ukraine. In light of the situation and flight cancellations, passengers are advised to check with the airlines in advance regarding their flight. Do not come to Ben Gurion if your flight is cancelled. Passengers should take into account that there may be delays in their return to Israel. In any case, the Ministry of Transport continues to operate two hubs in Larnaca (Cyprus) and Athens (Greece) to increase the number of paid flights to Israel for Israelis wishing to return home.
