Flying to Paphos, Landing in Larnaca: Important Update from Arkia
Have you booked a flight to Paphos with Arkia or know travelers who have? Please note: Arkia has announced that due to updated security guidelines, all flights initially destined for Paphos will temporarily land at Larnaca Airport.
According to an Arkia spokesperson, after discussions with Israeli security officials, it has been clarified that there will be no changes in the security guidelines at Paphos Airport in the near future, and there is no expectation for the lifting of the landing ban there.
Implication of the decision:
All flights sold to Paphos will actually operate to Larnaca Airport, which is approximately a one-and-a-half-hour drive from the original destination. Arkia’s regular route to Larnaca will continue to operate unchanged.
Free Shuttle for Paphos Passengers
To ease the inconvenience for its customers, Arkia announced that passengers who purchased flights to Paphos for the next two weeks will benefit from a free shuttle service from Larnaca to Paphos, operated by the airline. Additionally, each passenger will have the option to choose between landing in Larnaca or changing their flight destination.
When Will the Decision Change?
At the end of August 2025, a new situation assessment will be conducted, and based on the position of the security authorities, the possibility of resuming landings at Paphos Airport will be evaluated.
Arkia emphasizes that it operates according to the guidelines of the security authorities, and will continue to maintain full transparency with its customers, while committing to passenger safety and quality service.
