Israel’s Airspace Closed – Flights Canceled Until Further Notice
In a dramatic announcement by the Ministry of Transport and Road Safety, it was stated that the airspace of the State of Israel is closed for departures and landings – until further notice. The decision was made to minimize risks to passengers and aircraft.
The ministry requests the public not to go to Ben Gurion Airport, but to stay at home and follow updates in the media. According to the guidelines, at least 6 hours’ notice will be given before the airspace is reopened.
Passengers who were supposed to depart today are asked to check for updates through the websites of the airlines and the Airports Authority, where new flight schedules will be published.
Passengers currently abroad, whose flights have been canceled or landed at alternative airports, are also requested to follow media reports – and once regular flights are resumed, to check the new flight schedule on the airlines’ websites.
