Ryanair Hesitant to Return to Israel: “We May Not Return at All”
The Irish low-cost giant Ryanair is expressing doubts about resuming its operations to Israel, even after the end of hostilities, according to CEO Michael O’Leary. His remarks raise significant questions about the future of the airline’s return to Ben Gurion Airport.
While the company had already announced at the beginning of the summer that its flights are suspended at least until October 25, 2025, it now seems that a return is not guaranteed. In statements made to journalists in Dublin, O’Leary claimed that “there is a real chance we will not return to Israel, even when the security situation stabilizes.”
According to him, the delay in the company’s return is not only due to security considerations but also because of the conduct of Israeli aviation authorities, which he claims “are delaying our operations and making it difficult for us to return.”
Ryanair, which has become a significant player in low-cost routes to Israel in recent years, is considered one of the most popular airlines among travelers from Israel to Europe due to its affordable prices and extensive network of destinations. The prolonged suspension of operations and the latest statements from management raise questions about the future.
