Terminal 1 Awakens: Hundreds of Flights Scheduled for August
After a long period of inactivity, Terminal 1 is set to resume operations on a large scale. Starting August 3, airlines such as El Al, Arkia, Israir, and Georgian Airways will operate hundreds of flights from there.
The decision follows a period of calm in the region and improved security conditions, allowing airlines to return to Terminal 1 for both domestic and international flights. (Terminal 1 Shops)
According to the Airports Authority, approximately 500 flights are expected to operate from Terminal 1 throughout August, signaling a return to normalcy and increased passenger traffic at the historic terminal.
Additionally, the Airports Authority promises to monitor the process continuously and adjust the number of flights and airlines according to demand and security conditions. There is also consideration of reinstating routes that have so far only operated from Terminal 3.
If everything proceeds smoothly, Terminal 1 could become a significant hub for low-cost flights in the coming months.
