For the First Time: ‘Arkia’ to Launch Direct Flights to Hanoi and Resume Flights to Bangkok
‘Arkia’ is continuing to expand in the international market and announces a historic move: for the first time, the company will operate a direct flight route between Tel Aviv and Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, while simultaneously resuming direct flights to Bangkok, Thailand. Additionally, the company will continue to operate the popular route to Sri Lanka.
Significant Strengthening of ‘Arkia’s Position in the Far East
The new flights will be conducted using Airbus A330 wide-body aircraft, equipped with three service classes – including a luxurious business class with seats that convert into a two-meter-long bed, personal comfort kits, VIP service, and a premium food menu.
According to Arkia CEO, Oz Berlovich:
“This is a festive day for Arkia. We are not only launching two new routes but are continuing to implement our long-term strategy: to become a significant international airline, with a presence both in the Far East and the transatlantic arena. After the success of the New York route, it’s time to move forward, also to the East.”

Remarks from the Ambassadors
The Ambassador of Thailand to Israel, Mr. Bunyarit Vichianpuntu, welcomed the return of the Bangkok route:
“More than 400,000 Israelis visited Thailand – a particularly beloved destination. The opening of the route will also ease the travel of tens of thousands of Thai workers in Israel and contribute to strengthening trade and tourism ties.”
The Ambassador of Vietnam to Israel, Mr. Ly Duc Trung, emphasized that the opening of the new route comes at a perfect timing:
“With the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement (VIFTA) in November 2024, the business sector between the two countries is set to advance significantly. This is an important step that will strengthen economic, cultural, and tourism cooperation between Israel and Vietnam.”
Continued Expansion and Operations to Sri Lanka
Alongside the new routes, ‘Arkia’ announced that it will continue to operate the popular route to Sri Lanka during the months of September-October and between December and February.
