Israir Expands Fleet: Acquires Another Airbus 320 Aircraft
Israir has finalized the acquisition of an additional Airbus 320 aircraft. The new plane is expected to commence operations by the end of the month. This morning (03/09/2025), Israir completed a deal to purchase another Airbus 320, which will join the airline’s existing fleet. The transaction is valued at a total of $20 million, aligning with market value estimates for this aircraft model. Fleet Expansion Continues The new aircraft marks the fifth in Israir’s ownership, following the acquisition of three similar aircraft last year, with a total investment of approximately $60 million. This brings the total value of Israir’s owned aircraft to around $100 million. A Significant Achievement for Israir The additional aircraft is expected to enter service just in time for the upcoming summer season, aiding the airline in expanding its operations and launching new flight routes. Over the past year, Israir has recorded a significant increase in passenger traffic, flying around one million passengers in 2023 despite the challenging fourth quarter due to the outbreak of war. In 2024, the number of passengers grew to approximately 1.5 million. According to Uri Sirkis, CEO of Israir: “Israir demonstrates consistent and impressive growth in its operational scope, despite the challenges we have faced.
