Important Update for Travelers to Dubai: Change in Entry Rules for Holders of a Temporary Israeli Passport

From December 7, 2024, new rules came into effect regarding the entry of holders of a temporary Israeli passport into Dubai. From now on, travelers holding a temporary passport issued for a period of only one year are not permitted to board a flight from Israel to Dubai without a residence permit (visa) issued in advance.

These rules apply only to holders of a temporary passport, which is usually issued in emergencies or urgent circumstances. Note that Israelis holding a regular passport, valid for at least six months from the planned arrival date, are not required to obtain a special visa to enter Dubai.

Therefore, travelers are advised to check their passport’s validity before traveling to Dubai. If the passport is valid for less than six months, renew it in good time. Where use of a temporary passport is required, make sure to obtain a suitable visa in advance to avoid unpleasant surprises at the airport.

It’s important to stress again – a passport originally issued for more than a year but with less than a year of validity remaining does not need a visa. Only a temporary passport issued for one year only needs a visa for Dubai.

For more information and up-to-date guidelines, it’s recommended to check the websites of the relevant authorities and the airlines.
