The Most Exciting Return Home: El Al unveils a groundbreaking initiative in the aviation world: starting this week, all flights landing in Israel will feature an emotional landing video designed to give passengers a profound sense of connection to Israel from the moment they touch down.
This is a pioneering step in the international aviation industry, transforming the landing moment into a national and emotional experience for both Israelis returning home and tourists arriving for the first time. The video is based on a new rendition of Naomi Shemer’s iconic song, “Simanei Derech”, performed by Hanan Ben Ari, which accompanies moving images of the country and its people.
The video will be shown on all El Al flights landing in Israel over the coming months and was launched yesterday in a television campaign and on social media.
The creative direction was led by Yuval Cohen, the director of Eurovision 2019, who is credited with an impressive production that touches the heart.
Nadav Hanein, El Al’s VP of Marketing and Digital, stated:
“Our goal was to bring back the excitement to the moment of landing and returning home – both for those returning from a trip and for those visiting Israel. Landing moments in Israel are not just the end of a journey – they are a deep connection to home, family, and culture. We wanted everyone to feel that Israel is not just another destination – but home.”
