The King David Lounge at Ben Gurion Will Close During March
El Al Spokesperson announced:
El Al is upgrading its flagship lounge at Ben Gurion – the King David Lounge
El Al continues to improve and renew the service experience for its customers, and is now embarking on a comprehensive upgrade of its flagship lounge at Ben Gurion – the King David Lounge. The upgrade will focus on a new design and improved hospitality services, in line with the company’s high standards.
Temporary closure for the upgrade
As part of the works, the main lounge will close in the early morning of Sunday, February 16, 2025, and the upgrade is expected to be completed during March. Customers eligible for lounge services will be referred to alternative hospitality solutions during this period.
Alternative hospitality solutions for eligible passengers
- TOP PLATINUM customer lounge – will remain open as usual and will continue to host frequent flyer club members of this status. Later on, this lounge will also be upgraded.
- Business class passengers and PLATINUM customers – will be able to use the new, upgraded Dan Lounge in Pier E at Ben Gurion, which includes advanced hospitality services and a culinary menu inspired by the dishes served at the King David Lounge.
- GOLD customers – will receive hospitality vouchers for participating restaurants and cafés at Ben Gurion, allowing them to enjoy hospitality outside the lounge too. If the Dan Lounge is full, eligible passengers will receive hospitality vouchers, including for companions according to eligibility.
Reopening and future update
After the works are completed, the King David Lounge will reopen with a new design and an upgraded hospitality experience. El Al will publish an official announcement with the exact opening date.

A separate announcement will be issued on the reopening date.
