Yes, it is hot. But if you are looking for a low-priced holiday with attractions to match, summer in Dubai can be the perfect choice.
Why summer in Dubai still sells
Dubai is hot in summer. We are talking about 35 to 40 degrees in August during the day. We assumed the heat would put Israelis off and that flight bookings to Dubai for the summer would fall sharply. It turns out we were wrong.
Israeli travellers know how to do the sums themselves. Two nights in a small cabin in the north of Israel during the August holiday period cost about the same as a five-day kosher holiday in Dubai. Seen that way, there is little doubt that many will choose Dubai.
Plenty to do without being outside
Burj Khalifa and Ski Dubai
True, it is hot outdoors, but there is a great deal to do in Dubai that is not outdoors. At the observation deck of the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, you will feel the heat only for the moment you step out onto the terrace on the 125th floor.
The Ski Dubai snow centre is recommended as well, with its range of icy activities. Yes, skiing in the middle of the desert, in the blazing summer.
Sale season
Another advantage of a summer trip is the big sale season in the Emirates. Most malls and shops offer deep discounts, and inside Dubai’s endless shopping centres you will not feel the heat at all. Our guide to shopping in Dubai shows where to go.
The package
Flight Hunter put together summer packages to Dubai at an excellent price: only NIS 3,000 per person for a five-day kosher package, including flights, a kosher hotel next to the Mall of the Emirates, tickets to the Burj Khalifa and Ski Dubai, and the snow park with its penguins. The price is as published when this offer first ran, so check current availability.
So before you book a cabin in the north, it is worth looking at a kosher package to Dubai. For a clearer idea of the seasons, see Dubai weather and the best time to visit.
