Brief Stopover in Athens – Until February 28
According to the group’s announcement, Lufthansa night flights from Tel Aviv will include crew changes during a brief stopover in Athens, until February 28. This is solely a technical stop for crew exchange, with no passenger disembarkation.
Similarly, night flights of SWISS, resuming on February 16, will operate under the same format with a short stop in Athens.
Due to the stopover, flight time is expected to be slightly longer. Updated arrival times are already available in booking systems and on company websites.
Who Continues to Fly Directly?
The airlines Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines continue to operate direct flights to and from Tel Aviv without stopovers.
However, in specific cases, schedule adjustments may occur, and relevant passengers will be updated accordingly and rebooked if necessary.
Approximately 65 Weekly Flights to Israel
Lufthansa Group is expected to operate approximately 65 weekly flights to and from Tel Aviv, highlighting the group’s commitment to the Israeli market even during sensitive and challenging times.
The resumption of night flights allows convenient connectivity to major destinations in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and Belgium, and from there to the group’s extensive international network.
