Israir Plans Flights to New York – Awaiting Final Approval ✈️
Israir is preparing to open a direct route to New York with six weekly flights. The company has already submitted an application to the US authorities and is now waiting for the regulatory process to be completed, which may take several months. The approval is expected around June, which would allow Israir to start operating the route with wide-body Airbus aircraft leased for this purpose. While Arkia has already started operating its direct route to New York after applying earlier, Israir now has to go through a full regulatory process in the US, which may last until June. If it receives approval, Israir will operate the route with specially leased wide-body Airbus aircraft.
At the same time, Israir is also examining the possibility of operating a direct route to Thailand, a popular destination among Israeli travelers, and is expected to use wide-body aircraft for these flights too.
El Al Cancels Flights to Germany Due to a Strike in the Country
Following an expected strike in Germany, El Al announced the cancellation of several flights scheduled for this coming Monday.
List of canceled flights:
- LY355 to Frankfurt – Monday, 14:50
- LY357 to Frankfurt – Monday, 06:00
- LY2371 to Berlin Brandenburg – Monday, 06:00
- LY353 to Munich – Monday, 06:00
In addition, El Al announced it had made operational adjustments to minimize the impact on passengers:
- A special flight to Frankfurt on Sunday was added to allow passengers to bring their travel forward.
- On the Tuesday Munich flight, the aircraft type was upsized to increase passenger capacity.
Passengers affected by the changes received an SMS with contact details for a dedicated service center that helps find alternative solutions.
Serious Incident in India: An Israeli Tourist and a Group of Travelers Violently Attacked
A serious incident occurred in southern India, when an Israeli tourist and a group of travelers were the victims of a violent attack in the state of Karnataka, near the tourist site of Hampi.
According to local reports, the tourist was in the area with a group that included foreign travelers and a local tourist, when during the night of last Thursday, several attackers on motorcycles launched a violent attack on them.
Following the incident, three suspects were arrested and Indian police are continuing to search for another suspect who fled the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and local authorities are now examining the circumstances and motives of the attack.
